Donations of equipment and services to Debian
The list of debian.org
developer machines contains the most accurate information about the
sponsors of Debian machines.
The following organizations have donated equipment to Debian:
- Brainfood (previously known as
Novare International)
donated the master system (used for BTS, mail, and other things) and
the mailing list server for Debian, and has provided continuous upgrades
for these machines when they were necessary.
- VA Linux Systems
(now known as VA Software)
donated the hardware used for
www.debian.org and
non-us.debian.org, and two
major upgrades to those machines, along with
several other machines for developers.
- LinuxPPC has donated an 18G hard
disk
- Compaq has donated an Alpha
system which is being used to port Debian to that architecture.
- The Concorde Group has donated a Sparc Station 10 which is being used
to port Debian to the SPARC architecture.
- Rebel.com donated a StrongARM
machine used to port Debian to ARM architecture.
- Alpha Processor, Inc.
provided an Alpha machine used to port Debian to that architecture.
- Sun Microsystems donated the server
which powers the internal archive system, and an additional UltraSPARC
machine used to port Debian to that architecture.
- Atipa Linux Solutions donated the
server which runs archive.debian.org.
- Hewlett-Packard donated several
machines running core services of the Debian Project, including
the archive master and the bug tracking system. HP also donated
several systems to help port Debian to the HPPA and
IA-64 architectures.
- at-net donated a Netwinder machine
used to port Debian to the ARM architecture.
- Lasat donated two little
endian R5000@250Mhz Masquerade Pro machines used to port Debian
to the MIPS architecture (little endian).
- Millenux donated a virtual
machine on a Multiprise 3000 to run the buildd for the S/390 port of
Debian GNU/Linux.
- Cargal.org has donated a 20 GB
hard disk drive.
- AboveNet Communications has
provided server and bandwidth for
db.debian.org.
- Linux Hardware Solutions provided
the server that previously ran ftp.debian.org.
- Kachina Technologies, Inc.
provided one SPARC machine and two UltraSPARC machines that were used
to port Debian to the SPARC architecture.
- fms-computer.com donated
an Opteron server which is being used to port debian-installer to
the AMD64 architecture.
- Digital Networks UK donated an
Opteron server which is used as a general-purpose AMD64 development
machine to which all Debian developers have access.
- Broadcom Corporation donated
several SB1 evaluation boards to help Debian's MIPS port.
- Denis Milkovic donated a
Cobalt RaQ to help with multi-arch work.
- Sun Microsystems donated a Sun Fire
T2000 server for SPARC porting work.
- hitflip.de for donating some
video equipment.
